41th ANNUAL FOOTBALL PREDICTION CONTEST!!

     I petitioned the NCAA for another year as head picker.  Thay said that I had a redshirt year coming.  All I had to do was promise not to sign anymore

football memorabilia and charge $1000 a pop.  Apparently some other college

football star has been caught doing this and an investigation is underway.

I expect his school will play him anyway and when the NCAA completes their

investigation sometime next spring then they will just forfeit all the games

he played in.  At least that is what I would do if I were the head coach and

University president.  Anyway if you believe what you read on the internet

the NCAA is on its last legs and college football will soon be totally

controlled by the major conferences and ESPN.  I expect a short period of

anarchy with most of the NCAA office personnel and investigators being

strung up on various goal posts at halftimes throughout the nation.  I just

hope that there are enough to go around.  I know that given Auburn's

checkered past running afoul those NCAA pencil necks we have some old scores

to settle and I relish the thought of doing so.  

      Given all the conference defections and buy-outs, I am not sure I still

know who plays in what conference anymore - except for the 14 superior teams

that call the SEC home base, poor little conference orphan New Mexico State,

and those reclusive monks at Notre Damn.  But I am sure that NMA's picking

website has all this stuff correct.  He also got me all excited when he told

me that he was working on a picking app for a mobile device and so I was

going to have my truck do all my picking this year in an effort to improve

my record.  However, due to the sequestration issue, the funding did not

come thru to complete this project.  In any case it looks like it's time to

start picking since the games begin on Thursday, 29 August.  I hope (but doubt) that you are up to the task.
